The existing Casita was a tiny 260 SF with a small bathroom and living space. The configuration was essentially unusable except for storage. The space added to the casita was carefully considered to reduce any impact to the kid’s play yard and maximize the overall impact. Now 460 SF, the Casita houses a full bathroom, kitchenette, music production studio and flexible living space with king size sleeper sofa. The overall functionality and flexibility of the space offers a retreat for hobbies and a comfortable place for visitors to stay for a weekend or longer. The Casita placement and program activates the rear of the yard, triggering the Owner to use every inch of space on the property – whether built space or negative space of the yard.
