The main level of the home consists of the same program as the original house in a different configuration. The homeowner wanted an open living space with the kitchen being the main space to congregate. This priority of space helped guide the size and scale of each space relative to on another. While considering privacy from the street, the utility spaces were pushed towards the front of the home, also creating the space for the foyer. The space allocation per program element was carefully considered to ensure proper scaling for no wasted space. The main level opens via the 28-foot sliding door to the covered patio which serves to double the space of the main level.
